What happened to my summer?

Whatever happened to the heat? The sun? The sand? The beaches? Graaaa!!! What happened to summer, that's supposed to make me prickly hot, lazy and want to stay for longer hours on my bed?

It's raining... no, storming here in the Philippines, and it's too much! It's not the rainy season, whatever happened to the clear defining line of El Niño and La Niña?! GRUWAHHHHHHH!!!!

I love the rain, sure... but I don't want the rain to mess up my inner calendar and make me feel as though Summer has already ended, or something really depressing's on its way. I don't like the foreboding feeling this has, especially when I have a lot of rather optimistic plans for the remaining weeks of Summer Vacation.

Oh yeah, and I think my hair's gotten too long. Maybe I should cut it again? I mean, even without the sun, it's still hot. It remains to be very warm where I live. *sigh*

Would you mind?

After starting oekaki early last summer, in a board I can no longer find the link to, I found another one again, just this month and somehow became a dedicated user.

It's an English/French oekaki board run by Rann-sama, a fellow deviantArt community member and a very talented artist. You should check her works out. ^^ And the oekaki board is here.

And since I'm an artist myself, I'd like to share my works here... at least, not the whole lot in my gallery at dA- so at the very least, oekaki works both from Web-Kare (because they have that option in the forums) and from Poison Cage. Comments are very much welcome. And I'd appreciate if you could look at my more extensive gallery in dA, Sashimi.Is.Love.

,,*o*,, 草間 薫 is lurv.

I just started a web game, by the name of ウェブカレ, or Web-Kare. One could liken it to a dating simulation game, only, the player is given very limited choices and, you're playing online. That, and unless in a triggered-event, you have a one-sided conversation. Whatis outstanding about ウェブカレ though, is that, unlike similar web games, ウェブカレ utilizes voice actors in certain unique dialogues and also in the events that just blows your mind away- unless you could read/translate Japanese/other unfamiliar language-topics/come across English-topics in the forums, you'd never know the voice was coming your way. The random expressions and satisfyingly diverse responses make up for a very interesting experience you'll find relaxing, fun and quite addicting.

My ウェブカレ is named Kaoru. He's a top student, and is the president of the student council. I didn't bother changing the name because I'd like to distinguish my カレ from other characters in my head. In the start of registration and setting up of an account, you get to choose from the four available characters. There's Ayakase Tsukasa-sensei Japanese language teacher, Ayakase Ryuji, his younger brother, an artistic delinquent, Aiba Shun a bubbly basketball player and finally, my Souma Kaoru. There is still a variety of services and triggers that I would meet as, me and Kaoru are just starting. One very interesting feature about ウェブカレ though is that you get to support one another in conquering your カレ. Certain events are triggered by the time and day, by the level of affection and sometimes, the insistency of poking. To raise affection, poking is important!! There are some events that are triggered when you allow your カレ to interact with other people's カレ. Interesting, but, unfortunately, I'm yet to see one.

Now!! For moe-ness!!!

Kingdom Hearts ♥ Kingdom Hearts II

I'm one of those people who despise going with fads- and so I do my best to either be the first or last to look into a certain market hit. Though I guess both are impossible to become- I pretty much felt successful at the same time really left out when I discovered Kingdom Hearts just this year.

Okay, so to be truthful, gameplay took my breath away- indeed, it's a game developed by SquareEnix, I thought. And then, there's the theme song to consider- Simple and Clean (English version) by Utada Hikaru, though not exactly my favorite, is still by the same artist of First Love, FINAL distance and other impressive songs. The 'movie-within-movie' quality wasn't as impressive as other SquareEnix games, but definitely ways better than other games developed with Disney (no offense meant). So I could say that Kingdom Hearts is truly a remarkable step of Disney and SquareEnix to partner up, seeing that this would truly benefit each other. For SquareEnix, a larger market abroad, wider fanbase and the inclusion of younger age brackets into the SquareEnix players. For Disney, better graphics in terms of game releases, a little less of the trademark Disney-child friendliness and an exploration of other acceptable themes that was thought to be out-of-bounds for the Disney characters. Also, a sharp reminder that more experienced players could still have fun with their childhood-doted icons.

Then Kingdom Hearts II came along- and though a little less of child-friendliness on terms of storyline (since all the characters matured to some extent), I'll have to say, this is the better than the original release. While it does limit the different worlds to explore, at least the player isn't confused with the story line anymore. And then there was the opening theme, Sanctuary- a favorite of mine now. Cinematic has improved, the battle controls are a bit more interesting... gummi ships should've been removed, though. I still can't accept that both had to have this mini game included. It takes too much time- especially when its my younger brothers at the console. For them, the system deteriorated by the second game. But they got compensation from the skateboard and motorcycle (Tron-Hollow Bastion-world) controls. And though I personally support Riku x Sora for a pairing... I do support Roxas x Namine, so I still have to put up with Sora x Kairi (bleh! coughshittygameimpliedpairingscough). Sorry to disappoint Axel x Roxas fans... I think that maintaining that precious, I'll-look-out-for-you friendship is important and all, but not really bordering yaoi all the time. Let's see... besides the ending, which pretty much screws up the sole RiSo, and instead gives a threesome RiSoKai, I maintain that this is better than KH and KH: Chain of Memories, which I won't write about since it's really gone shitty here, seeing your friends have become cards and can't pretty much help you out at battles the way they did in previous installations. Really shitty.

All in all, I should've went with the crowd this time- it truly is worth making a fad out of this... though not enough to have merited that RiSo in The Little Mermaid-world cosplay... *shiver*

Boys Love

Yaoi. A juice thousands of life forms sustain themselves with. Me included. But no, I won't be introducing this topic. I am not the person to do that, as I was only initiated to its various forms and levels by friends. They are more fit- as they are bound to gain new initiates- them and their damn charisma.

What I do want to introduce is the manga, illustrating the movie also in the same title, Boys Love. It's about how a young journalist/writer gets to meet a young, handsome and very much troublesome model with a talent for the arts.

It's by Tachibana Kaimu...
and the main pairing/characters look like this:

The Seme
Mamiya-san.... the young reporter. The interview with the model, Noeru, is his first big break in his career. A bit naive and hesitant, he still maintains professionalism, and has a clear eye. He doesn't allow headiness to get the best of him, and actually has great insight.
Mamiya

The Uke
Noeru-san.... the young model. He has a pretty bad prejudice towards reporters, saying in one chapter that Mamiya-san was the same as the others and would like to do him as well in the end. An example of youth going bad after being exposed to the adult world early on in life- that and add the torment and trauma during his childhood, as a girly-boy who does nothing but draw and be protected by his close friend, Ken-chan. He's snobbish and selfish. He gets what he wants, and it doesn't matter with what means he uses. Or at least, that is the impression Mamiya-san gets, until Chidori-kun, Noeru's best friend clears up how he truly is- a lamenting soul drifting from different partners every night so he could escape certain, hurtful feelings.
Noeru

It's just too bad the scanlators haven't uploaded any updates for this one- so it's not yet past chapter 3... I hope you get to like it as much as I have.
